In the wake of our celebration of the first advent of Christ over the Christmas holiday, this morning we fittingly arrive at a text teaching about the Lord's second coming. The Parable of the Minas is often wrongly presented as a story about material prosperity, but as we examine the text we see that it is in reality a call for believers to be steadfast and faithful to the commands of Christ in the midst of a hostile world, as we expectantly await his glorious return.
