This morning's portion of Luke chapter 8 shows Jesus healing a demon-possessed man in the country of the Gerasenes. Just as last week we saw Jesus' absolute power and authority over the forces of nature, this week we likewise see his absolute power and authority over the spiritual forces of darkness. As Pastor Joshua preaches this text, he explains how Jesus' visit to the region of the Gerasenes substantially pictures several aspects of the advance of the gospel itself: When Christ comes the demons tremble, the captives are freed, the world is afraid, and the redeemed proclaim his name.
