The Kingdom of God Concealed and Revealed

Did you know that sometimes Jesus told parables not to clarify the truth, but rather to conceal the truth from his hearers?  It's true.  In Luke 8:10 Jesus tells his disciples, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’"

This morning, Pastor Joshua exegetes the parable of the soils, asking both "What is God doing with his word?" and "What do people do with God's word?"  Beginning with God's perspective allows us to rightly understand the different responses to the gospel that we see in this parable.
