Jesus a Friend of Sinners

April 9, 2017 Speaker: Shawn Hobson Series: Luke

Topic: Sunday Morning Sermon Passage: Luke 7:36–50

This morning's text recounts Jesus' encounter with both a self-righteous Pharisee and a sinful woman who casts herself on Jesus' mercy.  Pastor Shawn explains that, when confronted with the message of Jesus, we either maintain a haughty reliance on our own righteousness, or we trust in Christ's rigteousness alone.  For those of us who truly trust in Christ alone, the recognition of God's amazing grace toward us should naturally overflow in our attitudes toward others -- not haughtily judging others as the Pharisee did, but rather showing love and mercy.
