Questions for the Merciful

February 19, 2017 Speaker: Joshua Loyd Series: Luke

Topic: Sunday Morning Sermon Passage: Luke 6:37–42

Perhaps the single biblical phrase most often quoted by non-Christians is "Judge not, lest ye be judged."  But does this really mean, as is so often implied, that Christians cannot proclaim moral absolutes to the world around them?  Pastor Joshua explains how this passage, far from being a prohibition on moral judgment altogether, actually instructs Christians to judge righteously, to avoid hypocrisy, and to recognize the need for mercy instead of merit.
